Founded in 2013 by architects Komal Mittal and Ninada Kashyap, the studio grew from a deep passion for architecture and a drive to build something meaningful. Based in Pune, it is guided by the belief that design is an intricate balance of form and function, intuition and discipline, empathy and method, and imagination and materiality.
Designing spaces at Alkove-Design goes beyond aesthetics and functionality: the aim is to craft meaningful experiences through an approach that values craftsmanship, reflects core values, and fosters long-lasting relationships with clients, collaborators, and communities.
Komal studied architecture at Dr. Banuben Nanavati College of Architecture in Pune, followed by a master's in Project Management from NICMAR. She guides the studio's planning and client relationships, staying close to each project from the first conversation to the final handover. Her care and steadiness help every idea find its way from drawing to finished home.
Ninada, a first-generation architect, studied at Dr. Banuben Nanavati College of Architecture in Pune and earned a master's in Advanced Architecture from IAAC Barcelona. She leads ideation and the studio's creative core, shaping spaces around the stories people carry and the way they live. Her instinct for detail and meaning runs through every Alkove-Design project.
